Marianne Bassil

United Arab Emirates·54 artworks

Dubai-based marketing and advertising professional by day, and bold illustrator whenever inspiration strikes, Marianne lives to defy labels. With a penchant for art that’s unapologetically quirky, she’s on a mission to make you feel something—Forget about art that sits on a pedestal; Marianne’s work is like that one friend who tells it like it is while making you laugh and question your life choices. Her style? Bold. Playful. Marianne creates art for those who’d rather be challenged than coddled. Technique is cool and all, but if it doesn’t make you pause, laugh, or tear up just a little, she’s not interested. She’d much rather wrestle with the imperfect, because life—and art—aren’t supposed to be flawless anyway. At this stage in her life, Marianne has proudly entered the “I-don’t-know” phase, where ambiguity isn’t a crisis; it’s a vibe. What she does know is that she’s not about to stop creating, exploring, or embracing the beautifully chaotic journey.
