Linen Canvas Care

Linen canvas holds up best with simple, gentle dry care. Following these maintenance guidelines keeps the pigment vibrant, preserves the natural weave, and avoids the risk of shrinking, distorting, or dulling the print.

Routine Dusting & Cleaning

• Light Wipe: Dust the surface using a dry or slightly damp soft cloth (such as microfiber).
• Gentle Technique: Use light, delicate wiping motions across the canvas rather than firm rubbing or scrubbing.
• What to Avoid: Do not machine wash, hand wash, or submerge the canvas in water. Do not use detergents, bleach, harsh chemical sprays, or dry cleaning. Avoid direct heat and do not iron the canvas. Exposure to liquid washing or heat can shrink the fibers, warp the fit within the hanging rail, or damage the printed pigments.

For Deeper Stains

If a piece requires more than a quick surface dusting, do not attempt to wash it yourself. Carefully remove the canvas from the Linvela Hanging System rail and reach out to our team at help@linvelagallery.com for advice before proceeding.

Linvela Hanging System Care

Our hanging systems are crafted from solid Slavonian oak or beech wood. Because wood is an organic material, natural variations in grain, texture, and color make every piece unique.

• Cleaning: Wipe wooden components with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth when necessary.
• Moisture: Protect wooden parts from prolonged high humidity and never submerge them in water.

We print our artwork using digital textile printing technology and water-based inks directly onto 380gsm linen canvas.

• Tactile Texture: Woven linen canvas retains a soft, tactile finish that adds physical depth to your space.
• Print Detail: Because water-based inks sink naturally into woven fabric fibers, fine texture details or subtle dot patterns may be visible upon close inspection. These are authentic characteristics of textile printing, reflecting the physical nature of the material rather than manufacturing defects.
