About Linen Wall Art

What is linen wall art, and how does it differ from a standard paper poster?

Linen wall art is artwork printed directly onto premium 380 gsm natural woven linen fabric, rather than paper or synthetic canvas. Where a flat, reflective paper poster can tear, curl, or look cheap behind glass, linen holds a rich, touchable texture and hangs frameless and organic against your wall.

Is linen better than paper for wall art?

For most homes, yes. Paper prints fade faster in natural light and reflect light unevenly, which can wash out colour depending on the angle. Linen absorbs light instead of reflecting it, so colour reads richer and more consistent throughout the day, and it holds its shape without warping, curling, or yellowing. If you're decorating a space you plan to keep, linen is the more permanent choice.

How long does linen wall art last?

With normal care, linen wall art lasts for years without noticeable fading. The prints use water-based pigment inks that bond with the fabric rather than sit on top of it, so colour stays true over time and the linen won't yellow or turn brittle the way paper does. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and it will look the same in ten years as it does on day one.

How is linen wall art printed?

Every piece is printed on natural 380 gsm linen using a digital pigment printer built for textile production. A preparation step lets the pigment bond with the fabric during heat fixation, so colour stays true without cracking, peeling, or fading the way surface-level prints can. After printing, each piece is precision-cut and sewn in-house at our production facility in Croatia.

Does linen wall art need a frame?

No, and that's part of the point. Every print hangs using the Linvela system, a solid oak or beech rail that attaches along the top edge of the canvas for a clean, frameless look. The rail sits flush with the artwork instead of framing it, so the fabric texture and the illustration speak for themselves.

The Linvela Hanging System

What is the Linvela hanging system?

Linvela is a precision-crafted hanging system built specifically for linen wall art. Each system is a solid oak or beech rail that attaches along the top edge of the canvas, with a cord for hanging, available in three widths (65 cm, 95 cm, and 140 cm) to match every canvas size. The design stays minimal on purpose: the rail sits flush with the top of the print and disappears into the composition rather than framing it, so it functions like hardware while still looking considered on the wall.

Can I change the artwork with the Linvela system without damaging my wall?

Yes, that's one of the main reasons Linvela exists. Once the hardware is mounted, the print is fully swappable: no repainting, no new holes. New season, new room, new mood, just remove the old canvas and attach the new one.

What wood is the Linvela system made from?

Each Linvela rail is made from locally sourced Slavonian oak or beech, both dense, durable hardwoods with a natural grain that varies from piece to piece, so no two rails look exactly alike. The wood is finished to complement the linen rather than compete with it, keeping the focus on the artwork itself.

Does the artwork arrive ready to hang with the Linvela system?

Yes. Every order that includes the Linvela system arrives fully assembled and ready to display, with the hanging cord pre-attached. All you need is a single hook or nail in the wall.

Can I order a replacement print for my existing Linvela system?

Yes. If you already own a Linvela system, you can order a Linvela Ready wall art: just the new print, without the hanging hardware. Choose your size and illustration and it arrives ready to slot straight into your existing rail.

What is the difference between standard Linvela and the Linvela-Ready option?

Standard Linvela: A complete, ready-to-hang set that includes the premium 380gsm linen canvas print paired with our custom hardwood hanging rail (carved from Slavonian oak or beech). Linvela-Ready: The linen canvas print only, without the wooden hanging rail.

How do I mount the Linvela Hanging System on my wall, and is mounting hardware included?

Every Linvela system arrives fully assembled with the hanging cord pre-attached to the solid Slavonian oak or beech rail. To display your artwork, all you need is a single, secure wall fix—such as a standard picture hook, masonry nail, or wall screw, depending on your wall type (plasterboard, brick, or concrete). Because wall materials vary by home, standard wall plugs and screws are not included in the package.

Sizes & Choosing the Right Print

What sizes is linen wall art available in?

Every design is available in three canvas widths: 60 cm, 90 cm, and 135 cm, with matching Linvela rails at 65 cm, 95 cm, and 140 cm. Height follows the aspect ratio of the original illustration, so exact dimensions vary by design; precise measurements are shown on each product page before checkout. As a general guide: • 60 cm - bedrooms, hallways, and smaller walls • 90 cm - a confident statement for living rooms and dining areas • 135 cm - gallery-scale presence for large or feature walls All three widths are available across the full collection of 300,000+ designs.

How do I choose the right size wall art for my room?

The 90 cm width works well for most living rooms and is the most popular starting point. For a bedroom or narrower wall, 60 cm tends to hit the right proportion without overwhelming the space. If you have a large feature wall, high ceilings, or an open-plan interior, 135 cm delivers the kind of presence a smaller print can't. A useful rule of thumb: art almost always looks better bigger in a real room than it does on screen. If you're between two widths, go larger.

Will the colours in the print look the same in my home as they do on screen?

Not exactly, and that's true of any printed medium. Screens display colour using light (RGB), which produces a wider range of tones than any physical print can reproduce. Printed pigments on fabric work differently, colour comes from light absorption rather than light emission, so very bright, neon, or cool tones can read slightly warmer or more muted on linen than on screen. Natural linen also has a warm, off-white base tone that subtly influences how lighter colours appear, generally in a way that feels more tactile and natural than a stark white paper print. We recommend checking the artwork on more than one device before ordering, since screen calibration varies between monitors, phones, and tablets.

How many wall art designs are available?

Our collection includes more than 300,000 designs across abstract art, botanical illustration, photography, landscapes, typography, geometric patterns, and contemporary illustration, with new designs added continuously throughout the year.

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for linen wall art?

Linen is naturally durable and low-maintenance. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your artwork looking fresh: - Routine Dusting: Gently wipe the surface with a dry, soft microfibre cloth or light duster to remove surface dust. - Spot Cleaning: For minor marks, lightly dab with a clean, slightly damp cloth—a gentle wipe is all it takes. Never scrub or rub vigorously, as this can alter the fabric texture. - Sunlight & Environment: Hang your art away from prolonged direct sunlight and high-humidity areas to protect the water-based pigment inks and preserve the natural linen fibers.

Read our complete Linen Wall Art Care & Maintenance Guide
Can linen wall art be washed?

No, we recommend against washing it. Linen holds up best with dry care: dust the surface with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth using a light wipe rather than rubbing. This keeps the pigment and the weave intact and avoids the risk of shrinking, distorting, or dulling the print. If a piece needs more than a quick dusting, remove the Linvela rail and contact our support team rather than washing it yourself.

See safe maintenance steps in our Care Guide
Will the print fade over time?

Not with normal use. The pigment inks bond with the linen fibres rather than sitting on the surface, which makes them significantly more resistant to fading than standard inkjet paper prints. Prolonged direct sunlight will eventually affect any artwork, so keeping your print out of harsh, sustained UV exposure is the main thing you can do to preserve it long-term.

Sustainability & Craftsmanship

Where are your wall art products made?

Every piece is printed, cut, and sewn at our production facility in Croatia, the entire process happens in-house, start to finish. The Linvela hanging system is crafted from locally sourced Slavonian oak or beech. Made in the EU, start to finish.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at our European crafting process
Are the inks safe and environmentally certified?

Yes. All prints use OEKO-TEX certified, water-based inks, free from harmful substances and safe for every home environment, including spaces with children and pets. OEKO-TEX certification means the inks have been independently tested against a list of over 100 harmful substances.

Does your wall art printing process use water?

No. Our process is a dry digital pigment process with no water-rinsing stage, unlike traditional textile dyeing, which is one of the most water-intensive processes in industrial manufacturing. That means a significantly lower environmental footprint per print, with no compromise on colour quality or durability.

Why do you produce wall art on demand instead of keeping stock?

Because making something nobody ordered is waste by definition. Every piece is produced specifically for your order, no overproduction, no unsold inventory, no clearance, which also means the collection can keep growing without physical limits. It's why we're able to offer more than 300,000 designs at any given time.

Is the wood in the Linvela system responsibly sourced?

Yes. Each Linvela rail is made from Slavonian oak or beech sourced from local suppliers in Croatia, dense, long-lasting hardwoods built to stay on your wall for years, not be replaced every season.
